New process to schedule an appointment for Large Scale Testing

From Sunday 20 June, anyone older than 6 years of age with a national identification number ("matricule") will be able to make an appointment directly via covidtesting.lu for a PCR test as part of the Large Scale Testing. This voluntary and free access is intended to give people, who have not yet been able to benefit from a vaccination scheme, the opportunity to undergo a PCR test. In case of a negative result, they will receive a negative COVID-19 test certificate in European format, with a secure QR code (EU-DCC).

As also decided at the last Government Council, Large Scale Testing will continue between 16 July and 15 September on a representative sample of the population, including for serological testing. nvitations for serological testing will be increased at the beginning of the school year in September.

In addition, regular monitoring of elderly people living in a retirement or care home will be maintained, as well as the possibility of inviting target groups or intervening on an ad hoc basis with the mobile teams.

As a reminder, the 8 test stations and the station at the airport remain available for testing.

The aim of the Large Scale Testing - phase 3 (LST3) programme is to effectively monitor the epidemiological situation, to follow up the vaccination campaign and to control the spread of the virus over time.
