The Guichet.lu portal is now even more accessible thanks to its new integrated text reader

Guichet.lu users can now activate an integrated text reader when they consult descriptions of procedures on the portal.

This text reader is an assistive technology that transcribes the text of the procedure aloud and can be very useful for people with dyslexia or dyspraxia who do not have a screen reader.

On Guichet.lu, the text reader button takes the form of a loudspeaker and is located above the title of the procedure, next to the print and share buttons. This button not only activates the text reader, but also adjusts the volume and speed at which the text is spoken.

The addition of this technology to Guichet.lu and the redesign of the portal in January 2024, with the addition of a raft of new accessibility features and simplified navigation, are part of a series of measures by the Ministry of Digitalisation and the Government IT Centre (Centre des technologies de l'information de l'État, CTIE) aimed at increasing the digital inclusion of all citizens. The accessibility of digital public services is a key aspect of ensuring that everyone has access to these services and to the information provided on the Guichet.lu portal.
